Common Lifestyle Concerns
While you can’t control your genetics, you can control many lifestyle choices that have a direct impact on your health. For example, a poor diet and lack of exercise can increase your likelihood of becoming overweight and developing conditions such as heart disease or diabetes. Smoking can cause lung cancer and lead to early death. Alcohol abuse can cause liver damage and harmful addictive behaviors. However, these behaviors are within your control.
Healthy Lifestyle Tips from PAX Medical Associates
Dr. Amanambu talks with each patient about their daily habits and routine to help them identify ways they can improve their health. Even simple lifestyle modifications, like starting to exercise regularly, can help protect you from disease and other health complications. For example, cardiovascular activity can help lower blood pressure and reduce your risk for heart disease.
Dr. Amanambu will help you develop a plan for lifestyle changes based on your specific health situation. Even when these changes are gradual (such as slowly increasing the intensity of your exercise routine), the long-term impact of these improved habits will transform your health in the future.
A proactive approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle will go a long way in helping you enjoy a higher quality of life at any age. At PAX Medical Associates, our goal is to offer guidance and support so that you can make the right lifestyle choices for your needs. Lifestyle changes can be a lot of work, but achieving optimal health is well worth the effort!
